CYB108 – Cybersecurity Management

In this unit students are introduced to the fundamentals of cybersecurity management for organisations. The unit comprises three domains: the first is the organisation context of cybersecurity and key cybersecurity management fundamentals; the second is cybersecurity management practices including risk, policy, training and governance; and the third is an introduction to security controls in a defence-in-depth formation ranging from perimeter and physical to internal security controls of an organisation network.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explain and apply organisational cyber management techniques to assess cyber risks, threats and vulnerabilities
  • Apply security risk analysis and assessment standards and benchmarks
  • Analyse organisational cybersecurity management tasks and critique a variety of real-world case studies
  • Examine personnel training and cybersecurity education needs based on established IT management strategies
